The Society as Lord of the Flies Characters?

I posted this in TheSocietyNetflix , so I figured I'd post it again on this sub (it's still funny to me there's two identical ones) in case anyone was interested. Sorry if y'all already saw it on the other one, haha, just trying to encourage some discussion.
While many people have drawn comparisons of The Society to the Pied Piper, the show is definitely also a modern take on Lord of the Flies, even if it's not an exact representation. Because I'm a huge nerd, I was wondering for people that have read The Lord of the Flies, which characters from The Society do you believe most closely resemble or represent the book's characters? As a general rule of thumb, because Lord of the Flies is one big allegoric tale, each character from the book represents an aspect of humanity/civilization, whether that be good or bad, so I figured in some capacity The Society must be doing this as well and tried to do some analyzing on my own.
Below, I'll provide short character descriptions (courtesy of SparkNotes), as well as links to their full character analysis (which I HIGHLY encourage you to read, seriously, it will BLOW YOUR MIND, I just don't want to drag down my post lol) and the characters (+my analysis) I believe could fill these positions/roles.
Ralph - "The novel's protagonist, the 12-year-old English boy who is elected leader of the group of boys marooned on the island. Ralph attempts to coordinate the boys' efforts to build a miniature civilization on the island until they can be rescued. Ralph represents human beings' civilizing instinct, as opposed to the savage instinct that Jack embodies."

  • Allie - I think for obvious reasons Allie's character has the strongest case for being a take on Ralph. As the central characteprotagonist and the moral center of the show, she is the leader who we see attempting to guide the group towards civilization and a functional society. Like Ralph, she assigns roles and attempts to maintain order among the group, and like Ralph, she begins to lose control to those that fail to see the necessity of her rules (and who are more 'savage'). Also like Ralph, Allie is far from perfect and sometimes tempted by her darker nature, but is definitely an entity of good who falls into the leader role.
  • Cassandra - Before Cassandra's death, I definitely believed she fit Ralph's role; she's a source of order for the group. However, I think Allie, especially since she is still alive, captures the struggles of Ralph to maintain moral and keep order a lot better.
Jack - "The novel's antagonist, one of the older boys stranded on the island. Jack becomes the leader of the hunters but longs for total power and becomes increasingly wild, barbaric, and cruel as the novel progresses. Jack, adept at manipulating the other boys, represents the instinct of savagery within human beings, as opposed to the civilizing instinct Ralph represents."

  • Campbell - This is another obvious take. Campbell is cunning, manipulative, and a psychopath, thus almost a perfect fit for the savage Jack. He has already demonstrated his ability to coerce others like Harry and the Guard into helping him gain power, and ultimately, as a foil to Allie is the main source of chaos and conflict among the group. While his savagery for now is contained, it's definitely not going to just go away.
  • Harry - This one may be a surprise, but the biggest reason Harry could be a fit is because like Jack, Harry longs for power, power he believed he had before; he longs for his wealth and status, illustrated by his frustration and eventual depression over people in his house and using his private property, his anger over losing out on leadership positions he used to have (like his place on the student council, which reminds me of Jack's role as a choirboy). In the book, Ralph and Jack also acknowledge that in another life or situation, they could be friends, which to me mirrors the relationship between Allie and Harry. To be fair, as of now, Harry has not shown indications of true savagery, and his depression and self-victimization make him not much of a leader, but still, his ideals align with Jack's. I am drawn back to how he continually offered Allie to join in games of Manhunt, like how Jack was a hunter on the island, and Harry like Jack certainly was able to inspire reactions among the group with his claims of 'taking what's there's' and 'not making anyone do work', providing dissent to Allie's order. We'll have to see if the writers plan a redemption arc or continue to paint him as a foil of Allie's "order".
Simon - "A shy, sensitive boy in the group. Simon, in some ways the only naturally "good" character on the island, behaves kindly towards the younger boys and is willing to work for the good of their community. Moreover, because his motivation is rooted in his deep feeling of connectedness to nature, Simon is the only character whose sense of morality does not seem to have been imposed by society. Simon represents a kind of natural goodness, as opposed to the unbridled evil of Jack and the imposed morality of civilization represented by Ralph and Piggy."

  • Grizz - Grizz, rather unfortunately, is the perfect fit for Simon. He's the nicest of the jocks and I'd go as far to say straight up the nicest guy on The Society. He's extremely genuine, thoughtful, and is willing to do his part for the community. He's intelligent but soft spoken, and countless times backs up Allie whenever she needs support or help. Also, Grizz does seem to be associated a lot with nature and spiritual forces throughout the show, and feels connected to it like Simon does. He goes on both expeditions, talks about farming with Sam, and is the witness to much of the biblical imagery like the snake and the Writing on the Wall; he even mentions to Allie before his expedition that he "saw signs" of things going badly. Probably most importantly, Grizz wasn't able to shoot Dewey, unlike Allie; he was unable to compromise his morals "for the greater good", even when those around him did. He is innately just a kind and sort of innocent guy, and the culture and behavior of those around him does not affect his decisions. His heartbreak over Sam further cements him as innocent, believing the good in others. Y'all, I hate to say this, but at this point I'm just straight up concerned for his fate going forward lol.
  • Sam - Sam, like Grizz, is unerringly kind. He is a perfect foil to his brother Campbell in literally every way (which is important if Campbell is Roger or Jack), going out of his way to protect Becca. He is also physically vulnerable, which in a way brings similarities to Simon's innocence and weakness. Like Grizz and Simon, Sam doesn't sacrifice his morality in any significant way (except for the one time when he lied about his father). I would say Grizz is still a stronger contender than Sam, but for all intents and purposes Sam is as gentle, kind, and pure as Grizz is and could easily be as much of a Simon as Grizz.
Piggy - "Ralph's 'lieutenant'. A whiny, intellectual boy, Piggy's inventiveness frequently leads to innovation, such as the makeshift sundial that the boys use to tell time. Piggy represents the scientific, rational side of civilization."
Full analysis here: https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/flies/charactepiggy/
  • Gordie - Gordie seems like the obvious answer here because he is the most rational and scientifically-minded of the group, taking on many scientific roles in the community such as his place in the Committee for Going Home, his forensic work on Cassandra's murder, and his turn as a doctor. He's nerdy and geeky, so I can see how he would be viewed as an "outsider" like Piggy. Also, he is close to Allie and acts within her inner circle as a voice of reason. I could see him eventually dying and meeting a sticky fate at the hands of a Roger, too.
  • Will - I think Will is actually a stronger candidate than Gordie for being Piggy. Piggy is very close to Ralph, and acts as his second hand man, just like Will does with Allie. Like Piggy, Will's whiny (that's subjective lol, it's more he doesn't know what he wants), and more importantly, he is definitely an outcast, something the show pushes really hard. Will, like Piggy, is also the logical voice among the group, and the one talking into Allie's ear. He rarely acts emotionally and tries to help Allie calculate her decisions. I could definitely see him falling victim to Piggy's fate as the series progresses, especially as his character seems so pointless as of now that whines but doesn't do a lot. His confrontation with Campbell in the finale also seems to be foreshadowing, but that could be just me.
  • Cassandra - Because she falls victim to the same fate (ie death) as Piggy, I thought it was possible Cassandra could be him, as Piggy's death led to an eruption of chaos and ultimately was the loss of complete order in the community. But ultimately, I'm not so sure, because there is no obvious Roger at this moment and Allie managed to get the situation under control.
Roger - "Jack's 'lieutenant'. A sadistic, cruel boy who brutalizes the littleuns and eventually murders Piggy by rolling a boulder onto him."
Full analysis here: https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/flies/characteroge
  • Clarke - The reason I put Clarke as the most likely candidate for Roger is not just because he's a dumb jock. Clarke is the one who snuck into Dewey's cell and essentially "tortured" him, and thus compared to Jason, he's a lot more likely to become physically violent. Him beating up Dewey could be a "sign" to his darker development, like how Roger terrorizing the littleuns in what starts off as relatively harmless actions precedes his downward spiral that leads to him killing Piggy. Also, Clarke seemed quick to agree with Campbell... I could see him taking on a (really dumb) right hand man position to Campbell.
  • Jason - I would argue that up until this point in the show, Jason is actually more dangerous than Clarke, despite Clarke's actions towards Dewey. Jason just has a darkness in him I don't see in Clarke (who frankly besides being dumb as rocks has moments of decency... "My name is Inigo Montoya... prepare to die!", his negative reaction to Campbell's possessiveness of Elle, etc). Jason is definitely not sadistic and brutal, not yet, but like Roger, this could be revealed to the audience or developed over time. Roger didn't start out killing people after all. The way that Jason reacts to shooting the gun, how it made him "feel like a fucking god or something" was super chilling to me. Notice also that Jason was the one (out of him and Clarke) to be present when Harry talked about raping Cassandra and laughed about it(Clarke wasn't there), he was the one who shot Dewey (Clarke was not there), and he's the one who didn't get uncomfortable or turn away when Lexi was changing (Clarke still looked, but he kept looking away uncomfortably and eyed Jason for confirmation.)
  • Campbell - I only put Campbell here on this list based on my theory that Harry is actually Jack. Campbell is a lot smarter than Roger, which skews the power dynamic parallel between RogeJack and Campbell/Harry, but he is pretending to be Harry's "right hand man" and uses him to front as the leader and one in control, which does mirror the 'lieutenant' position Roger holds. Also like Roger, Campbell's a psychopath. He's completely sadistic, cruel, and while his actions have not been extremely outwardly violent, his terrorization of Elle reminds me of how Roger treated the littleuns. His behavior is obviously going to grow more savage and extreme, like how Roger's behavior escalated, and I can completely see Campbell killing off a "Piggy" later on in the show that just makes everyone lose their shit. Especially if that "Piggy" is Sam.
  • Dewey - I suppose if Cassandra is The Society's "Piggy", then Dewey could be its "Roger". He is sadistic and cruel, also misogynistic, and believed he was acting as a second hand man to Harry when he killed Cassandra based on Harry's feelings about her. Clarke also mentions that Dewey treated his little sister like shit, which indicates a history of sadism and shittiness. Because Dewey is already dead though, I would say this theory is a bit weak, but it still aligns in my opinion if Season 1 as a whole is a microcosm of Lord of the Flies.
Sam and Eric- "A pair of twins closely allied with Ralph. Sam and Eric are always together, and the other boys often treat them as a single entity, calling them 'Samneric'. The easily excitable Sam and Eric are part of the group known as the 'bigguns'. At the end of the novel, they fall victim to Jack's manipulation and coercion."
Full analysis here: https://www.sparknotes.com/lit/flies/charactesam-and-eric/
  • Luke - I see Luke as representative of the "corruptible sap" and/or "flawed but generally decent human" roles Sam and Eric represent to Lord of the Flies. Like Sam and Eric, Luke is generally a good guy, and he's generally on Allie's (Ralph) side even when he disagrees with her; he is one of the nicer jocks, is in a committed and generally healthy relationship, and tends to choose civilization over brutality (unlike Clarke or Jason, Luke has a much bigger conscience and tries to do the right thing). He is not naturally a savage or rebellious person, as seen by his intense guilt over shooting Dewey and his distaste for the Guard's decision to stage a coup, but most importantly he IS corruptible and imperfect, showcased by the way he was able to be convinced to join the wrong side and his decisions to lie to Helena. I could see him following Sam and Eric's fate as a victim of Campbell's coercion, especially because while he has a strong conscience he does not always abide by it.
That was long as hell, but anyway I think this is an interesting and debate-worthy topic I haven't really seen on this sub, so please let me know your thoughts on similarities between characters and/or the implications of certain Lord of the Flies characters on The Society characters' fates!
